Purple Day
March is Epilepsy Awareness Month. Purple Day is recognized in over 70 countries and on every continent on March 26th every year. Cassidy Megan, who was 8 years old at the time, started Purple Day because she wanted everyone to understand and support all of those who live with epilepsy. All around the world businesses, schools, municipal, provincial councils and our Federal Government here in Canada recognize Purple Day by wearing purple ribbons. The Epilepsy Association of Nova Scotia runs our Sunflower Campaign in June of every year. The significance of the sunflower is it is based on VanGogh’s painting “Sunflowers” and Vincent VanGogh has epilepsy. We are always looking for volunteers who would like to participate in this campaign. Some ideas would be to hand them out to your friends, co-workers, your staff, your classmates and in turn they would give a donation for the seeds. Everyone would get a packet of…
