EANS Strategic Plan 2019-2024

In 2018, we realized we needed to change our name to better reflect the areas persons living with epilepsy live and work in that we have served over the past year.  Not just in Nova Scotia, but in New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island as well.  It is our intention to adopt a new strategic plan for 2019-2024!  We are more than an office on Spring Garden Road.  We are the education in your school just outside of Yarmouth.  We are the support group help you need in Moncton, NB.  We are the Scholarship and Bursary you received to further your education in PEI.  We are the program you need in Halifax or Saint John.  And we are the Seizure First Aid you learned in Inverness or Charlottetown.  Strategic planning will continue in January, 2019 to continue and finalize the plan how to best serve our population in the next 5 years in all three Maritime provinces.  How we will expand and grow.  And most importantly, how you can have access to services in your own communities.

We will start with our name change for the organization, planned to take place at a Special Meeting during our Annual Christmas Dinner on December 9, 2018 at 3:00 pm at Fort Massey United Church Hall.  Our proposed name is Epilepsy Association of the Maritimes.  A majority vote from our members will allow us to change our name and move forward to help all of those individuals living with epilepsy in New Brunswick, Nova Scotia and PEI and also to help their families and their communities.  We will have a new logo, a new mission and a new plan.  We will also be looking for representation on our Board from New Brunswick and Prince Edward Island.

Better times are coming for those living with epilepsy throughout the Maritimes and we will be ready!  Armed with a plan, we will better serve you.
